One of three units at The Njord located off the bustling Superior Street and overlooking Lake Superior and the Lake Superior Scenic Railroad. The possibility of interconnecting our other two units “Thor” and “Odin” gives the unique possibility to host large families and corporate events. The coziest property at The Njord, our Freya unit, with its breathtaking views and dream-like touches captures the Norse-inspired essence of the property and location. Built in 1933, history meets modern in this landmark boutique building that has been lovingly restored and remodeled with thoughtful attention to detail, including large windows, tall ceilings, luxury vinyl flooring, and comfortable, quiet flooring.
The 700-square-foot unit comprises of a quaint kitchenette and intimate living space with full views of Lake Superior as well as a statement electric fireplace. The kitchen, with local Mesabi black granite counters, is appointed with the guest traveler in mind. A bar counter and three stools provide a view of the lake for relaxing mornings sipping coffee before the day begins and a gathering area at the end of the day for a cocktail and dinner. The efficient kitchen is completely equipped with new stainless-steel appliances and single-sink and open shelving for cookware and utensils.
